Have you tired it? Scared of it, sounds too exotic, not really it’s one cup of awesomeness let me explain why. I got on the green tea fad when I heard it speeds up your metabolism whilst I was trying to lose my third born’s baby weight that he left me with after he popped out. As it is a taste you may not be used to, it can take some getting used to however it is worth it this stuff is gold.
Here are some of the reasons you should be drinking green tea:
Reduces Plaque and Bacteria In Your Mouth. Therefore preventing cavities and helps fight bad breath, it also strengthens tooth enamel.
Full Of Antioxidants. Can lower cholesterol, helps you maintain a healthy circulatory system, even an antiviral agent. Very detoxifying and can help you have great skin.
Fights Diseases. Known to help fight cancers, heart disease, diabetes, and dementia.
You are not going to get all of that if any of that from most of your current choices of drink are you, especially not soft drink? The trick is after lunch or dinner and you still feel hungry make yourself a green tea. The hot warm water will give you the full belly feeling you crave. Get yourself a nice cup and make it your special green tea cup. Make it a habit.
Like I said above it isn’t a taste us Westerners are used to so I buy green tea with vanilla to make it more tasty. I now love it and have it as often as I can because if there is evidence that one little drink can do all that above then it is worth a shot. Green tea, get on it gals, ditch the coffee and soft drink, maybe swap one coffee or black tea a day for a green tea until you can make it a new habit. Your future self will thank you for it.

I also love green tea but there a couple of little tricks to help take out the bitterness you sometimes get with it. The water should be just shy of boiling and before you add hot water put a little bit of cold water in the cup first over the tea bag (but not covering it). Also you can fill a drink bottle with cold water and drop a green tea bag in it and sip from it all day, more subtle flavour.
Hey you, thanks great tips! I’m going to try the drink bottle idea today! R
I love green tea and drink it all the time. Have been sick this week with sore throat (flu), so have tried it with a teaspoon of honey, yum!
Sounds great Julie! Hope you are feeling better! R
South African Rooibos tea is as healthy with regards to antioxidants but without the caffeine, so if you are like me and have a problem with caffeine then try Rooibos tea. It is available in Woolies in the tea section.
Janet, sounds good I will keep an eye out for it. R
