Last week I shared with you that I scored a job at the True Grit event in Adelaide working as a Safety Marshal as I am a Personal Trainer and because of my Military back ground. Well it was the most awesome thing I’ve done in a long time want to hear all about it? What is True Grit? Take a look at the clip below. That’s me 15 seconds in on the left in the pink and black in the 645am safety brief looking a little tired and cold.
Arrived at the event Friday night, the plan was to sleep there to be there ready for an early start Saturday morning. The bit no one told me about was we were sleeping on the dirt under the stars no running water no electricity. iPhone went flat no FB, no email no txt OMG! But that was ok because look what I woke up to, the most amazing sunrise over the River Murray.
Then we met all the others working there and were familiarised with the course and our roles. There were CFS Crews, Surf Life Savers, St John’s, SA Ambulance personnel as well as us Army people all volunteering our time to make this thing work. It was over two days Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was hot and there were 30,000 flies, Sunday was cool and rainy. This was the Obstacle I was stationed at “The Bunker!”. Got to watch 5000 people get on their hands and knees and crawl through that bad boy.
Only I could put a little Pink into a Military Obstacle Course!! In this pic is a group of middle aged women who go to the gym together and put a team in. They are just normal women attempting something awesome that’s what I loved about this that there were so many different fitness levels, so many different kinds of people participating. True Grit is heading to Brisbane 13-14 Jul, Sydney 07-08 Sep and Tas, Perth and Melb dates are soon to be released. I would recommend it to anyone it was such an awesome out of the ordinary event.
