Because Today Is Another Chance To Get It Right!
OK Yummy Mummies time to get motivated, it’s almost summer so that means you are eventually going to have to give up hiding in your trackies and dig out your summer wardrobe, this eventually will even mean getting in to your bathers. That should be all the motivation you need right there, but for some reason you continue to find the next excuse. Not anymore, not after you read this, today I am sharing some hot tips on how you will start your first workout, TODAY!
The easiest thing to do is take the kids to a park or playground it costs nothing and the kids will entertain themselves leaving you to bust a few moves! If you have no idea where to start then keep reading.
The First Thing To Do Is A Warm Up…. This can be anything that gets you moving. The aim is to get your heart pumping faster, moving the blood around your body more efficiently and getting the fluids in your joints moving. To warm up play a game with the kids, chasey, or a ball game, jog around, star jumps anything that keeps you moving for a good 5 minutes to get your body ready and you in the mood. (The fairy can’t catch me and has cracked the sads at this point!).
Leg Workout Can Be As Easy As…. Leg Presses in the gym work on the same concept, except we are doing this on the school oval. 14Kg 4 year old locked and loaded, start with knees at your chest then push your little person up. You wont even know you are working out it is a bit of fun. I also have a 1 year old who wanted to play on my chest, no creche here just us being active in the sun. No fairies were hurt in the making of this post. You could also bust out some squats and lunges at this point.
Chest Workout Can Be As Easy As…. To work your upper body grab your toddler and bench press his little butt, well this one weights 11kgs so it’s a workout. Again it’s a bit of fun nothing serious but you are actually working out. You could also roll over and bust out some push ups at this point.Core Workout Can Be As Easy as…. Grab your youngest mine is an 11kg One year old, use him as a weight, or an anchor on your feet and do some sit ups. Crunches are also a great start to get your mummy tummy back where it is mean to be.
The commitment, the time, and the effort it pays off I promise you. You just have to make it a priority and a habit. When I have a good workout it clears everything up for me both mentally and physically and I just have a better day as a result. If you are feeling out of shape, grab a pen and write down what you need to do, get dressed, get the kids ready and just go for it, you really can’t get it wrong. The only wrong way to work out is to do it from the couch or computer chair! Thank you Mr 8 for your great photography (he made me write that!).
