The biggest problem with all of us modern Mum’s is we are so time poor, probably has something to do with the amount of time we spend on the net but hey who’s pointing fingers, not me! Today I wanted to share some of my meal ideas that are quick and easy because who want’s to spend ages in the kitchen? They are all nutritious and simple, all can be cooked pretty quickly leaving you much needed time to pick up Lego and wash crayon off the kitchen bench.
Quick Dinner Ideas For Busy non 1950 Mum’s
Red Meat: Can be Lamb or Beef. Steak. Steak Sandwiches. Beef/lamb Stir-Fry. Pepper Steak. Steak Diane. Kebabs (chunks of steak/lamb on skewers) marinate for alternative flavours try Satay, Teriyaki, Honey Soy, Curried. Surf & Turf. Fillet Mignon. Schnitzel. Beef/Lamb Stroganoff. Warm Beef/Lamb Salad. Beef/Lamb Casserole. Lamb Korma.
White Meat: Can be Chicken or Turkey. Roast Chicken. Club Sandwich. Chicken Salad my all time fav. Chicken Fillet Burger. Chicken Schnitzel. Chicken Curry. Chicken Casserole. Grilled Chicken Breast. Herbed Chicken Fingers. Apricot Chicken. Chicken & Corn Soup. Chicken Kebabs (chunks of chicken on skewers) same flavours as red meat above work well. Tandoori Chicken. Chicken Rice. Butter Chicken.
Mince Meat: Chicken/Turkey/Lamb/Beef. Burgers. Lasagne. Bolognaise. Meat Balls. Chilli Con Carne. Shepherds Pie.
Fish or Seafood. Grilled fish. Crumbed fish. Baked fish. Fish fingers. BBQ fish. Salmon/Tuna Pates. Salmon/Tuna Mornay. Grilled fish burgers. Fish Kebabs.
Easy Eggs. Omelettes. Scrambled. Quiche. Boiled. Poached. Bacon and Eggs. Breakfast for a lazy dinner.
Pasta Dishes. Spaghetti Bolognaise. Tuna Mornay with pasta. Chicken & Avocado Carbonara. Chicken Pasta Bake. Bolognaise Pasta Bake. Pasta Meatball Bake. Beef Lasagne. Chicken Lasagne.
Pick one meal from each group and use it for your weekly meal plan that way you know you are having a balanced diet. That covers six nights a week leaving one night for take-a-way or eating out. Serve each dish with salad or veggies and you are on your way to better health.

Thanks for that, I will be putting it to good use. I love super quick ideas for those crazy nights! My sister bought me a slow cooker as a welcome present when we first arrived in Oz. Although there is a bit of preparation involved, once you’ve got it on the go you leave it all day, no worries. Same with a rice cooker. I love both of mine and use them quite frequently. Especially in winter! Next thing on my wish list is a pressure cooker and soup maker! 🙂

thanks so much for the post. I’m finding it really hard these days to keep some variety and not serve the same few things every week. To top it off, hubby’s a vegetarian so choices are slightly more limited. Thanks very much for sharing 🙂
