Ok so I have been experimenting with a few natural home made remedies lately, you would have all read my post on baking soda lemon juice face mask and if you were brave enough I hope you gave it a go and got some great results. Well I have come across another amazing make at home facial wonder, the lemon juice and sugar facial scrub.
This is amazing I have been using it most nights, I really wish I took a before pic as I swear my skin is brighter and glowing way more than before, oh good god I better not be pregnant! This is a simple trick and an inexpensive way to get some really clean skin, and possibly fade your childhood freckles, I think Nicole Kidman invented this one!
The lemon juice alone can scrub off dead skin cells, adding the sugar takes it to the next level of exfoliation. Lemon is bursting with the wonders of Alpha hydrosyl acids (AHA’s) what you are paying for in your anti-aging beauty products. The AHA’s slough off the dead skin cells and apply the vitamin C directly to the pores, leaving your skin feeling amazing.
Simply grab a facial pad wipe thingy, put some sugar on it, I’ve been using Castor sugar as it is just finer therefore gentler. Squeeze the lemon juice directly on the sugar on the pad and begin the scrub. It may sting a little, and it may leave your face a little red, but I am confident once that settles your skin will feel so clean and look so clear the next morning it will be worth the messing around. Give it ago you wont be disappointed.

do you think this would be okay for my sensitive skin? I had a baby 10 weeks ago and I have those small preggy hormone patches on my face that i want to remove…:-)
Hey Angela, congrats on the new arrival!! I too have quite sensitive skin and was a bit scared at first. Try diluting it with some water and see how that goes. It really is a great scrub I’m addicted. R
Im thinking of using soft brown sugar as its even gentler than castor sugar, ill let you know how it goes 🙂
