Hey so the weather is I am sure warming up where ever you live in this big old country. I bet you are still in somewhat of a hibernation mode as it was a long cold winter like always. Time to enjoy spring and start making the most of each day, embracing it rather than rushing through it. There are a number of things that just drop off over winter as it’s just too cold and yucky, it’s time to bring back all things spring into your’s and most of all the kid’s lives!
Time to spring clean your daily routine by simply enjoying the warmth, the longer days now that the kids routines have settled with day light savings. When was the last time you saw a sunrise maybe tomorrow you should go out the front and remind yourself what it looks like. Here are my hot tips for spring cleaning your daily routine:
1. Get Up When You Wake Up. It’s no longer freezing, don’t roll over and go back to sleep anymore. Open the curtains and the windows, let the spring air in to your bedroom. Open the house and let the morning in.
2. Go For A Morning Walk. While your hubby is still home and before the kids need too much attention, why not go for a quick 20-30 minute walk to start the day. Just try it once you will love it I promise, just 20mins means 10mins turn around walk back. Done.
3. After School Fun. Once you are home and bags are away or before why not go out the back with the kids and spend some time in the yard. Things will be looking a bit shabby as the weather warms up so you water the lawn while they have a play. Kick the ball with them and watch their little happy faces.
4. Eat Dinner Outside. Yep, it’s fun. Get the kids to organise the plates, cutlery etc. Cook dinner like normal but everyone eats outside. It’s still nice outside at dinner time, you will even find the kids stay outside after they’ve eaten.
5. Bring Some Spring Inside. Pick some flowers and bring them inside. I love having flowers inside. If you don’t have any pick some at a park or the neighbours, don’t get caught. At the entrance to most Coles these days they have bunches of flowers for $6 grab a bunch tomorrow and bring some spring in to your kitchen.
Enjoy the little things, because they are actually the big things, no one ever tells you that.
