Sometimes you are going to have to eat out, sometimes you are going to have to eat in a food court. Food Courts are based on the concept of fast food as you are in a hurry, want to eat and run. However if you eat smart and know what you will eat before you get tempted by deep fried heart attack food you will make a smart choice. This post was inspired by myself landing in a Food Court at lunch time twice this week and just looking around at the crap people were putting in their mouth amazed me, so I even took a happy snap of my lunch to show you what you could be eating instead.
You need to get your table before your food. Sit down and look around at what’s available. Do not choose from what has the shortest line or what the kids are nagging for, pick as clean as you can find. Eating at the Food Court isn’t a licence to eat crap, if you eat crap you will feel crap.
Four Things To Concider
1. Eat Breakfast. Don’t hit the shops hungry, you are setting yourself up to fail.
2. Take Water. Take your water bottle everywhere you go. You may not be hungry you are probably thirsty, learn the difference.
3. Get Your Seat Before Your Food. Sit down and look around, like you would when you go shopping you spend time to look for a bargain, spend a moment to look for a good choice.
4. Think Protein And Salad. This is the best method, something with meat, something with some lettuce and any other veggies are a bonus. It can be a salad, a wrap, a wholegrain chicken sandwich just not deep fried and covered in oil or sugar.
So there is some food for thought, OMG I’m so funny. Food Court doesn’t mean you are having junk food for lunch it means you are going to have to get your hunter & gatherer on and seek out something healthy for yourself. Stop heading to the Maccas line as it is old habit for buying the kids McCrappy Meals they too could do with a nice chicken wrap or sushi.

Great advice. My tummy usually decides before my brain but you’re so right… it’s easier than I think to make a smarted choice. Thanks.
