I LOVE BIRTHDAY PARTIES! I have been know to go a little crazy at my kids birthday parties but I just love it. I have fun making cute cakes for them and lots of cute little party foods each year. This year my daughter asked for a fairy house cake so I figured it was my year to whip out the ice-cream cones and get my fairy castle Architect skills on!
Confession I don’t always make the actual cake, I used to but I have now out grown that bit and I buy pre-made cakes just from Cole’s. But do I do the decoration? Hell yes, do I turn into crazy cake lady no one get in my way? Hell yes every year! But it’s all worth it to see their little faces when they lay eyes on their cake each year.
HOW TO MAKE THIS THING
You will need to buy/make two slab cakes, icing in between the layers. Melt white chocolate and cover cones. Cut out spots for the turrets (cones now covered in white choc). Ice cake, add second tier, ice. Decorate with pink icing and pink jelly crystals for fairy dust. Little white marshmallows make the castles defence balconies (i made that term up so you get what I mean). The five bigger turrets have pink jelly crystals on them to make them like tiled roofs. With a bit of imagination you could go crazy on this thing.
So there is it Little Miss (now) 5’s Fairy Castle birthday cake. If I never see or taste white chocolate again it will be too soon. Hope this gives you some inspiration for your daughters birthdays. One of the awesome things I remember about my childhood was the great birthday cakes my Nanna used to make me each year. I think that’s why I go all OTT with the kids cakes as I know they will remember it for a long time like I have.

I too love making my kiddies special birthday cakes, although I still bake the cake as can’t stand bought cakes with all those preservatives & additives…
