The one message I would give to new Mum’s is you are going to feel tired yes, but SLEEP WONT ENERGISE you, it will make you feel worse. However exercise will energise you and this is why.
When you exercise amazing things are happening on the inside. On the days you talk yourself in to sitting on the couch or going shopping these amazing things don’t happen and you miss out. There is a whole heap of chemical reactions taking place some that leave you feeling great and some that leave you feeling sore the next day.
Endorphins. You’ve heard of these bad boys right well they are your reward for working out. They can make you feel happy and can also block pain which enables you to push on through discomfort. Some people even become addicted to this feeling, ever heard of a runners high?
Estrogen. This is what selects carbs or fat for your body to use during an intense workout. Chicks burn fat for fuel, why guys tend to burn carbs because of our higher estrogen levels. So menopause can mean some weight gain, or slower weigh loss but it isn’t out of the question. Why do guys get it so dam good?
Serotonin. This one is awesome, makes you feel happy, helps you sleep, and boosts your appetite but for healthy foods, yey! Serotonin increases when you workout more often and works with endorphins to make it feel awesome, guess that’s the bit I love. Another side effect is clearer thinking and more energy wow who doesn’t want that. Ever just gone for a walk to clear you head, come back and felt great, this is why.
Dopamine. Lastly another pleasure chemical, could it get any better, this guy also shows up during orgasm enough said.
Above are just four reasons for you to workout each day, four reasons that you wont see but you will definitely benefit from. Most of these happy hormones can be released when eating quickly and eating unhealthy foods, which obviously leads to weight gain. So the better way to get them is a daily workout, 20 minutes in not too little it’s better than nothing.
