Do you have the kind of bedroom where you keep the door shut so you don’t have to see it, and you really wouldn’t want anyone else seeing it? Is your bedroom a dumping ground or storage area for the treadmill you thought you’d get around to using or do you have non-bedroom things like the computer or anything else that shouldn’t be in there? Can I give you some good advice, make sometime in the next week to sort out your bedroom and make yourself a beautiful space to fall into at the end of the day.
I’ve had that bedroom, I’ve had my husbands guitars plonked everywhere, uniforms, we even had the computer in our room at one stage. I had always wanted a beautiful bedroom, just a nice quiet, tidy and very adult place with no toys, no clutter and no mess. Now I have just that, I have what I think is my beautiful space, my adult room that I keep the door shut to keep sticky fingers out. They of course get in!!! I love my bedroom it’s my favourite room in the house, it’s like getting in to bed at night and getting a big hug from my big snuggy bed, sad I know but hey!
I love white things, white things and kids other than marshmallows, don’t always work out, so I have a white bedroom. Some might find my bedroom a little too feminine but I just love it, I love fabric, blankets, lots of pillows, candles anything romantic and lux it just makes me feel like a rockstar!
Here Are Some Things To Consider When Making Your Beroom Beautiful:
1. Think Of It Like A Hotel Room. You can have one part of the house that is special, your sanctuary. Hotels always have white linen, little clutter, lots of storage and a place for everything.
2. Make Your Bed Every Day. By taking the extra 2.5 minutes to make your bed each morning, you will keep your bedroom looking tidy. Then every time you walk in you will see your made bed and it will pick you up. It will look neat and be calling you to get in it. If you walk in to an unmade bed every time, it just screams, ‘oiy one more job you haven’t done yet’.
3. Splash Out To Create A Real Lux Feel. Do buy some cute pillows, do buy a snuggy throw blanket, do buy some nice smelling candles. Who cares if your husband thinks it’s silly, it looks great and creates a real feeling of comfort.
4. Technology Free Zone. Try to have no electronic equipment on your bedside tables. It is clutter and it is emitting radiation. I’m no hippy but I do believe in 8hrs a night of electrical equitpment free time. Try and have your TV as far away from the bed as possible.
5. Cull The Clutter. No clutter zone, as in no treadmill, no desk with work on it, no unfiinished jobs/paper work, no pram, no computer, no work bags on the floor, no toys, no clutter. Also keep all surfaces free of stuff, so your bedside table should only have a lamp and a box for the TV remote, lip balm, place to put your phone and anything else I say!
These are just my thoughts that have worked for me. I love love love my bedroom it’s the only place I can go to feel like a grown up and not have to worry about treading on Lego or tripping on a Buz Lightyear. Have a look in your room, see what you can cull, do it then go out and buy yourself some new linen and some pillows to give your bedroom a spring makeover!

Hi Renee, Im redoing my bedroom & love your bed. Do you mind me asking where you got it from? Thank you

Danelle, Hmmm good question, I think it was Forty Winks. I am in love with it, I had a wooden frame bed before and sitting up against the wooden bed head never was comfy that’s when I went in search for a soft bed head, you could sit there without pillows it’s so delicious!!! R

i loved ur room very much and ur thinking but i think this isnot a cheap way to make our room..beautiful because ur bed and curtain are expensive
renee01 says
Thanks, the curtain’s were there when we moved in so I am kind of stuck with those, my bed is in fact a fake version of a fancy bed so that wasn’t as expensive as it may look. We are a one income family with three kids so I find little things to make it look better. R

I love the soft feeling of your room. My bedroom colors are the same & I have hung sheer pale pink curtains at the windows (along with cream colored drapes) & I love the way the room takes on a soft pink glow when sunlight shines thru the curtains.
