14 DAYS & 14 WAYS TO A NEW YOU IN 2014
Something happens when you have kids and you become a Mum, your confidence gets sucked out of you somewhere along the birthing process. I’m talking everything from your confidence with the new baby you just spat out but have no idea what it wants, to your return to normal life. Wait until you go back to work, it doesn’t end there.
REASONS MUMS LOSE THEIR SELF CONFIDENCE
The reasons we lose our self confidence are too many to list but the ones that stand out to me are as follows:
Your new role in life, your new body, your new outlook on life, your new baby, your new vagina, your new messy house, your new dress size, your new look in a bikini, your new replacement at work, your new bags under your eyes, your new ability to use baby talk even when talking to adults, your new leaky boobs, your new habit of singing Big Red Car, your new stretch marks, not speaking to an adult all day, baby brain. See where I’m going, the changes you have to endure after having a child are enormous, so big no man would come out in one piece. These things suck the confidence right out of you.
This has all happened to me at some stage after each kid, but I want you to know you can put the pieces back together and work on getting your confidence back. Baby steps that seems to be my motto with all the changes but it works.
HERE’S WHAT I’VE LEARNT
After each baby I have gone back to work, my work was the Army, with men of mixed ages and differing opinions on women, let alone women in the Army, add to that women in the Army with kids. I have had to over come some nasty pricks who knock my confidence for a six with the blink of an eye in the Army. However with time I have learnt to not give a sh*t what they say or think. You need to learn this lesson too, who cares what people think it matters only what you think. You need to be confident to be happy, you need to be happy to be a better you.
HOMEWORK: Find out what triggers your insecurities. Then think of ways to omit them for good. Do one thing each day that scares you as when you pull it off it will do wonders for your confidence.
