Looking for a little piece of awesome that tastes amazing but is also really good for a healthy snack then look no further. My choc almond and date balls are just what you need in your fridge.
Why are these little super stars so good? They take 8 minutes to make. They taste amazing. They take the place of chocolate. They are healthy. They can be eaten in the car as breakfast for day’s you run out of time. They can be a snack any time of the day or a healthy sweet treat after dinner.
What You Will Need: (but are not limited to)
1 Cup Pitted Dates
1 Cup Almonds
1/2 Cup Oats
1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut
2Tbspn Cocoa Powder
Water or almond milk to wet the dry mix in order to turn them in to balls
What You Do:
Pop the dates in the food processor and blend to the size of sultanas, do the same with the almonds, if you don’t have a food processor don’t panic just chop them up. In a separate mixing bowl add the chopped dates, almonds, oats, coconut and cocoa powder and mix. Add a few drops of liquid to make the mix wet enough to hold their ball shape. That simple. Make balls and store in the fridge. Now when you crave something sweet you grab one of these. They taste great and you can really add anything you like.
WHY DATES?
Dates are very good for you, dried dates contain Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Thiamine, Niacin and Riboflavin. Show me a chocolate that has all that. It gets better these little guys are full of Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium, Copper, Manganese and Selenium. They are high in iron and calcium, they are like a fricken multivitamin only a lot more pure and cheaper. I think it’s about time you and I went on a real date, make dates your new BFF I am 100% sure you will love it!

I just whipped these up after Combat Class at the gym this morning. I made the whole lot in the food processor – just kept it running and added in the oats, coconut and finally almond milk until it came together.
As well as less washing up the added bonus? I get to lick the bowl!!
Thanks for another fabulous recipe. 🙂

Hi Kath, I would suggest using Almond Meal instead of the oats. Or up the coconut instead of the oats. R
