Today I am reviewing a Celebrityslim product, Rapid Phase Chocolate Flavoured Shake and their number one best selling Protein Bar. I don’t believe in turning to shakes to replace meals as it is too restrictive, too much deprivation with such great potential to fail. However, if you have made the decision to lose the weight that you know you shouldn’t be carrying, and are prepared to really do the right thing by yourself then this could be a product for you.
How It Works
This product claims to work by breaking it down into 3 phases, which I think is a good thing, think baby steps. There is phase 1 rapid kick start for the first week, phase 2 trim to reach your goal, then phase 3 maintain keep it off. This, to me, recognises that it isn’t a 7 day thing, you don’t just drink the stuff and wake up thin, it’s a process that requires you to be involved. So for the first week you do as it says below, the 2nd phase is similar but snacks are added, the 3rd phase is maintaining it, keeping it off which drops it back to a shake for breaky, healthy snacks and meals.
What You Do
So the concept is you swap some of your meals for their products, be it a shake, a soup or a bar. You still need to eat a good healthy dinner and drink lots of water. The kick start concept is a shake at 7am, 11am, 3pm then a nice real meal for dinner. This isn’t a lifestyle it’s a kick start for a week to help you through the hurdle of where do I start. I’m ok with that, for a week use it to cleanse your pallet, use it to stop grabbing drive thru for lunch instead have a shake. That way it’s a good thing, but you can’t count on it to replace what needs to be clean eating which is your ultimate goal after the first week.
What I Think
I think it is unrealistic to rely on any kind of shake to replace the real food your body needs for the long run, those that do often lose weight while on shakes, quit, then put it back on as they haven’t actually changed their lifestyle. I think it’s ok to use as suggested for a week to get you started but not to replace what needs to be a healthy diet until you fail again. If you were disciplined enough to use it for the week only as directed by the program you would lose weight I’m sure as it would be less carbs and over all calories than you’re unhappy unhealthy body would normally consume (if you were in a position to need to lose weight). However you could also do this by changing your diet to the healthy one you know you should be eating. But if that hasn’t worked in the past then maybe this is what you need to feel the excitement of losing a few kilos as part of the kick start.
Did I Try It?
I am not going to try it for a week as that would be silly for me as I have no weight loss goals. However had I had a baby 6 weeks ago and had 20kgs to lose, yeah I would probably give it a go just to get me started. The shake its self tastes good and is as filling as it claims to be.
