HOT TIPS FOR A SMOOTH FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL OR JUST BACK TO SCHOOL
Tomorrow is Little Miss 5s first day of school so in order to make the morning as flawless as possible I will be spending sometime today getting things organised. I am big on ‘doing more the night before’. I like to get things ready at night to save time and tears in the mornings. I wasn’t always this organised it’s taken a while to figure out a few time savers but now I am so happy with them you might like to start using these ideas as part of your routine too.
MAKE SCHOOL LUNCHES FOR THE WEEK AND FREEZE
Every Sunday night I make the lunches for the week, wrap them up in cling wrap and freeze them. Then each night when they come home I empty their lunch box, refill their water bottle and lunch box with recess and a frozen sandwich. It defrosts in the lunch box and is fresh and ready for the next day. This saves an amazing amount of time in the mornings and means you never run out of bread and are never forced in to lunch orders.
GET SCHOOL UNIFORMS READY THE NIGHT BEFORE
Each kid has a little basket that lives on the laundry bench. Each evening I make sure their basket has a complete uniform in it reay for the next day, including jocks and socks. So when morning comes after breakfast they simply go grab their basket with their uniform in it, get dressed, put their PJs in the basket and return it to the laundry bench. Does it work, it works a treat. One of my biggest time savers. No running around looking for socks in the morning, no dramas about finding their PJs in the evening.
Really have a think about how you can do more in the evenings in order to free up time in the mornings. It’s really worth the effort and will save many arguments and tears. Try these two tips tonight for a smoother first day back to school tomorrow, you will love me forever!!!
